Our Story

I Lost 70 Pounds. Then I Discovered How Badly I’d Been Sleeping.

Kevin Townsley, Founder of LullTape

At five years old, I wrote my first story in crayon on my parents’ bedroom walls. They praised the story. They grounded me for the medium.

I’ve been coloring outside the lines ever since.

By my mid-40s, I was overweight and running on fumes. I decided to do something about it. Lost 70 pounds. Felt great. But here’s the thing about getting healthy: once you fix one thing, you notice everything else that’s broken.

For me, it was sleep.

Remember bedtime as a kid? Brushing your teeth. Favorite pajamas. A stuffed animal. Maybe a story. The ritual told your body: it’s safe to let go now.

Then we grew up. Now bedtime is whenever we stop scrolling. We crash more than we wind down. That was me.

A friend mentioned mouth taping. Sounded weird. I tried it anyway. Woke up more rested. Less groggy. After a week, it wasn’t a question. This was part of my routine now.

The problem? The tape options were terrible. I have a giant beard. Nothing worked.

So I made my own.

LullTape is the first step in reclaiming that ritual. One small, intentional act that tells your body: we’re done for the day. Three seconds to apply. The rest happens while you’re unconscious.
